Suspense Comics #4

June 1944 Continental
There was some debate as to whether L.B. Cole or Alex Schomburg drew this cover. That debate was settled recently when, if memory serves, a cover proof was found that clearly shows Cole's distinctive signature at the bottom. This comic is actually harder to find than the more famous, er... infamous Suspense #3. This is probably only because, the #3 is so much more valuable and, so, all it takes is the $$ to get your hands on one. The #4, now that's a different story! One will search long and hard for a copy in ANY grade! While this title only lasted a mere twelve issues, this bondage and human sacrifice cover shows why this title is so widely collected. Inside one will find more bondage panels and a Devil story. While Gerber estimates that fewer than 200 copies survive, I think it's more like 20 copies.
